Housing of stabling

The breeding part of DARHORSE center is focused on breeding of Thoroughbreds. Due to the variability of the stables , the pasture size and a large number of the paddocks with firm fences, it can also be provided the breeding of horses of other breeds. In the breeding of horses and Thoroughbreds it is particularly needed to comply with certain safety, nutrition, health and hygiene standards. For any experimentation there is not much space and we deal with the basically historical compliance of procedures on condition that there exist the optimal conditions for healthy growth and development of young sport horses. The types and housing of stabling vary depending on age, reproductive status or health. The center has four types of housing in four completely rebuilt modern stables with the quality equipment and facilities. The description of the stables can be found in the part Breeding Stable, Stable with boxes and Stable for mares to covering and Common stabling. In doubt about the health of newly arriving horses a quarantine stable is used, which is located outside the main stable complex. The private resort center DARHORSE includes, besides the stables and buildings for storage of hay and straw, the halls for parking and maintenance of machinery, the equipment and buildings used for moving of horses , the year-long sand paddocks, the administrative buildings, technical facilities and the buildings for the accommodation of the staff . The area is surrounded with the complex of pasture with plenty of grassy paddocks with a total size of about 300 ha.

Breeding stable

The building of the breeding stable was completely rebuilt in 2012 and renovated from a former cowshed . It currently has 20 large boxes ( approx 20m2), which are primarily used for stabling of mares and thein foals, alternatively for pregnant mares with foals . Each stabling box is equipped with:

• Self passive ventilation systems,
• a large opening window allowing the horse to watch the surroundinggs of the stable,
• a slot drain for urine (about 90 % of the urine is drained outside the stable )
• a modern front wall with sliding doors, two feeding windows and a range of complements,
• an automatic drinking basin, a trough and a holder of salt,
• 220 cm tall reinforced concrete bars,
• All the walls have abrasion resistant unsoaked finish.

There are a box of health, a washing box, a preparation of fodder, a store of fodder, an office, a cloakroom, a toilet, a shower and a room for 24-hour surveillance at the time of a birth.

Stable with boxes

A large building used as a cowshed was completely rebuilt for the needs of stabling of sport horses. We managed to build a modern stable with the high standard possibilities of stabling. The stable consists of 28 large boxes. Each box covering the minimum area of 16 m² is equipped with:

• Self passive ventilation systems,
• a large opening window allowing the horse to watch the surroundinggs of the stable,
• a slot drain for urine (about 90 % of the urine is drained outside the stable )
• a modern front wall with sliding doors, two feeding windows and a range of complements,
• an automatic drinking basin, a trough and a holder of salt,
• 220 cm tall reinforced concrete bars ,
• All the walls have abrasion resistant unsoaked finish.

In this stable the owners can find the high-quality conditions and facilities which are used for their active sport or relaxing riding. The stable is equipped with a feed store, a washing box, a saddleroom, a cloakroom, 2 x WC, showers and kitchenette. The stable is located in closely guarded area of the center DARHORSE.

Stable for mares to covering

This stable housing is mainly used in the covering period for stabling mares coming to covering to Thoroughbreds in the center DARHORSE . The stable consists of 20 fully equipped boxes of approximately 14 m2. For the thermal comfort of horses the floor of the boxes is covered with the rubber mats under which there are the drains for urine. This solution provides the better hygienic conditions, which are enhanced by a central air conditioning system.

Common stabling

The stable with common stabling in the Czech Republic is a relatively unique concept of common stabling. The stable is particularly suitable for young horses under three years of age. The stable consists of eight separate sections for 5-8 horses. Each inner section has its own outdoor paddock with woodchip surface connected by two passages and the horses decide themselves whether they will spend time inside or outside.

The internal sections are equipped with the large float drinking basins with heating of water, a special feeding area for round hay bales and an appropriate number of sites for individual feeding. All the sections also have a larger number of windows and an extremely efficient air conditioning system

The big advantage of this method of stabling is its variability, the support of group social relation, enough stimuli, the choice of environment, the elimination of stable bad habits, the natural psychological development and the suppression of claustrophobic reactions. The result of these stabling conditions is a calm and satisfied horse . According to the majority of foreign experts this is the best possible form of stabling for young horses .

Terms of a contract of stabling

Terms of a contract for private horses in the center DARHORSE are governed by a contract about providing services and in general conditions applicable from 1. 1. 2013. The subject of the standard contract about stabling is the providing of the following services for users:

1. All-day ( 24-hour mode) stabling of private horses in a completely renovated stable and the modern large box located in the center DARHORSE
2. twice a day the feeding of horses with seeds ( oats , barley) according to the diet, which is determines by the users, at the maximum of 2 kg per day and hay twice a day (morning and evening )
3. the litter of straw for private horses and daily placing (1x per day in the morning)
4. in the case of the owner´s interest there is a possible guiding of their horses into private outdoor sand paddocks and back, which is possible five times a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
5. the guiding of private horses depending on the season and weather conditions into outdoor grassy paddocks and back, which is possible 7 times a week,
